What Is RSS?

RSSRSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication" or in some cases "Rich Site Summary."  It is a standardized format by which information can be transferred over the web between different websites.  The RSS document or "feed" is created on one website and made available to the world similar to a webpage.  It has an URL address the same as any website you are familiar with.  The difference is that when another website or application makes a call to that URL, a feed is returned which can then be consumed and interpreted by the requesting website or application.

If you already know all this, cool and have fun with this site.  If I have already lost you, hang on because there are a few examples to follow in the getting started section that will show you exactly how to obtain a feed address, and then what to do with it within Read Some Stuff.  It is not important that you completely understand what a RSS feed is to be able to make good use of them within Read Some Stuff.
